University of Minnesota Ralph Strangis Pathways to Children International Travel Fund
Mission: To honor Ralph’s memory by supporting public health students’ travel to low and middle income countries to engage in community embedded public health activities.
“(My trip) inspires me in my work all over the world and directly led to me working in the Republic of Laos. (It) provided me the opportunity to learn, refine my understanding, and begin to empathetically think outside of the box.”

“I gained a life experience that taught me compassion and challenged me to be a better person and give a voice to the families of Kolkata.”
“(This experience) gave me the opportunity to get outside of my box and to better understand how lessons from far off places could be useful to communities closer to home..”
