In January 2015, Pathways took 18 illustrious alumni from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health to volunteer at the Jan Seva’s school and clinics in Kolkata.
A result of this successful trip, Pathways is now collaborating with the School of Public Health in developing an overseas field experience for current graduate students. In January 2016, three graduate students traveled to Kolkata where they continued to develop and advance a Community Health (Public Health) program at the Jan Seva school and the surrounding poverty-stricken community.
This successful collaboration between Pathways and the University of Minnesota provides much needed health and disease prevention information and counsel while giving Public Health students from the U.S. avenues to implement health strategies in a culturally competent manner in poorly served countries.
