Pictures are from the April 18, 2018 University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health (UMSPH) Research Day. This annual event provides an opportunity for UMSPH students to share their research and field experiences completed over the past year. Pathways collaboration with UMSPH had a strong showing this year with two poster boards being presented. In January 2018, Pathways funded a trip for three University of Minnesota School of Public Health graduate students to travel to Kolkata, India to work with Jan Seva’s Community Health Program (CHP). At Research Day, these three students presented two posters related to this work.
The first poster highlighted food environment and security assessments conducted in the homes of three Indian families. The second poster highlighted work surrounding domestic violence and gender roles including 23 Jan Seva students viewing video clips that were provided by Sesame Street, India as well as highlighting a focus group attended by 46 caregivers that assessed disciplinarian methods used in the homes.
